What Does Childcare Cleaning Involve? Childcare cleaning involves the thorough cleaning and sanitizing of a range of childcare facilities, from daycares and preschools to summer camps. It is important that any facility providing care for children have a clean and well-maintained environment in order to protect them from bacteria, viruses, allergens, and other potential hazards. The specifics of childcare cleaning may vary slightly depending on the type of facility being cleaned; however, there are many general tasks that are necessary for all types of facilities. Some common services include vacuuming carpets, sweeping hard floors such as tile or linoleum, mopping where appropriate (especially in bathrooms), dusting surfaces (including furniture and baseboards) with microfiber cloths to avoid spreading allergens or bacteria, spot cleaning walls and windowsills using a mild detergent or disinfectant cleaner, disinfecting toilets and bathroom surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectants, emptying trash cans and replacing liners, washing down kitchen areas ( tables, counters ) with hot soapy water or specialized cleaner/sanitizer solutions as required.
